I've lived in Naramata since 2005, moving here from Vancouver, and before that, the UK. My wife and I chose this Valley for the outstanding amenities, and because it is a safe and inviting place to raise children. Some of the following links will give you the best overview of the area.

If you are moving to the Okanagan with your children you won't be short of activities for them, no matter what their age. Summer is the big season for the Okanagan, and kids are kept busy swimming and playing outdoors. Naramata Parks & Recreation offers swimming lessons during July and August at Manitou Beach. This is a unique and very special way for young children to get confident with swimming in the lake. In addition to outdoor craft programs, Parks & Rec also offers sailing lessons along the beautiful shores of the village.
My wife, Anna, keeps our dogs as busy as our children. She is actively involved with Trax Weimaraners, and spends many hours hiking the trails above Naramata with our dogs.
I can help you with many resources for your animals, from veterinary to food, off-leash walking to swimming. Here are a few pet resources.

There are many inviting communities in the South Okanagan. I'd be happy to help you explore the following areas. I've included a few casual dining links as you might be surprised that the quality of restaurants and food available in the Okanagan Valley is as good or better than any large city.
Penticton:
The Bench Artisan Food Market has some of the finest sandwiches and gourmet takeout in the whole Valley.
Summerland:
Victoria Rd Deli & Bistro in and of itself is worth moving to Summerland.
Kaleden, Okanagan Falls, and Twin Lakes:
Linden Gardens and Frog City Cafe in Kaleden is a relaxing Sunday spring destination for the family.
